Does the registration identifier change when the user updates or reinstalls the application

According to http://developer.android.com/google/gcm/client.html#sample-register, the registration ID has changed when I submit the update for my application and the user updates it ...

  • Is the registration ID changed when the user uninstalls the application and then installs it again if it installs the same version as before?
  • Do I have to check if the user updates the application every time he enters it, if so, the application sends a new registration identifier to the server.
  • Is there a unique constant identifier for each device that I can receive and send to my server?

The registration ID does not necessarily change when installing a new version of the application. Google recommends re-registering with GCM when the application starts after installing a new version to fix an error that could cause the device to be unregistered if a GCM message arrives during the installation of the new version.
