Org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: cannot open connection

I’ve been struggling with this problem for some time now. I have a web application using Struts2, spring and Hibernate. I use spring to connect the actions of locations and the business layer and the dao layer. I use JMeter to load the test. The application works well when I simulate 1 user resending a request for receipt, there are no problems. But when I add a couple more users, after a while I get the following error:
