IE11: printing endless pages

Basically, in IE11, when you try to print a preview (or print, for that matter) of this page (and several others on this site), the page is never displayed in the preview area, and the number of pages goes up indefinitely: http: / /www.greatjakes.com/recent-work/

This error can also be found on the following pages:

  • I could only experience this in IE11. IE8 is fine.
  • It is not related to JS. If you remove JS from the page, it will happen anyway.
  • If you completely remove CSS, it goes away, but it is not.
  • If you delete (using developer tools in the browser) the HTML elements in the # content-inner> .page block one by one , you will find that the page really prints correctly when you reduce the number of elements to about 5 (3 on some pages).

Other than that, I have no idea what is going on! Any help would be appreciated.

We managed to narrow the problem down to one CSS rule:

#footer {
  display: inline-block;
}

, " " "" CSS , , , , , , . CSS , . , , , CSS , . , , , CSS ( CSS).
