XF86 key card in vimrc

Question

I have a chromebook that I modified to run Arch Linux. I have a search key, which is under the tab key, which I would like to display as autocomplete when in mode insert. xevtells me the key value XF86Search. However, this does not seem to work:

#.vimrc

inoremap <XF86Search> <c-n> mapmode-i$

How to do this using the XF86 key?

edit . In fact, using AutoComplPop from this answer turned out to be the best solution, but Ingo pointed me in the right direction. This question for the superuser discusses key reassignment for vim and / or terminals using xmodmapand what I would have to go for.
