Jquery idle timeout synchronization across multiple tabs

Question

I am using jQuery idle timeout plugin from Eric Hynds

My question is simple, but I know that there will be no simple answer.

The plugin works great when a website opens in only one tab. What I want to do is when a user opens a website on any number of tabs, which should have only one background timer, but an informational message should be displayed on all tabs.

Consider, for example, a user opens a website on three different tabs, but actively uses only one tab (obviously), therefore, at present the plugin considers that the user is inactive on this tab for a specified time and logs him out of the system, which is incorrect, as the user is still actively using another tab. I know that I need to hack something, but I don’t really understand where and how. If someone had already done this, it would really help me a lot. Any suggestions are also welcome. Help the guys.
