Backspace not working on sqlplus command line

Question

On my sqlplus command line (for oracle), backespace is not working. How can I configure sqlplus to remove characters from the command line using backspace? I do not often use the sqlplus command line, just to make quick interventions in my database, the time I need to use is very dangerous for me.

I used stty -a to view I / O settings: And could I see that erase was set to ??

So, to install backspace to remove characters, I installed stty erase ^ H and then works for the session.
