Sonatype nexus - which means published mean

In my internal Sonatype Nexus, on the repository routing tab (e.g. snapshots of the codec), e.g.

--- Publishing ---
| Status: Not published
| Message: Discovery in progress or unable to discover remote content (see discovery status).

I can view Remote, but could not view the index.

What exactly is meant by the term "published"?

Is this repo inaccessible to my maven clients? They use <mirrorOf>*and get all artifacts from Nexus.

It seems like a dead brain. I looked here, and in the Sonatip book, the online documentation on the Sonatip and cleaned up by Google, to no avail.
