I used to use the google chrome emulation tab to make sure my HTML / JS page renders correctly on different devices. Recently, when I got an ipad and started checking it out, I found that the way the page actually looks on a real device is noticeably different from the one in the chrome emulator (which does not surprise me).
I understand that there is no way to simulate a device 100% in the chrome emulator and in most emulators. My question is, to what extent can I trust the Google Chrome Chrome emulator tab?
Please note that I am not looking for oneliners, how to "use a real device, not an emulator", nor am I looking for suggestions about specific services such as browserstack. I am looking for information from people who already have some experience of checking UI / JS for different devices and can share when it is applicable to use the chrome emulator, and when it can happen, and it is better to use your own emulator or even a real device.
