How to include data files with ado packages in Stata

If I publish the .ado package for Stata, I can include the .dta files among the installation files in the .pkg description file using the following line:

f amazingdata.dta

However, it is unclear how, besides navigating the external directory for custom add-on packages, how users can download this data. For example, is there a way to make data files for .ado files available with commands such as:
