Copy / Paste - From Mac to Virtual Window

I am working on a document on mac (osx 10.9) and I have a virtual machine running under Windows 7 - the problem is that I do not know how to enable it so that I can copy text from a Word document to mac into a word document or application in a virtual box.

I have guest releases installed and included ...

How to enable copy and paste from host to client?

Check if the function "Shared clipboard" is disabled. It should be somewhere near Settings> General> Advanced. You can configure it to bidirectional or any other setting that you need.

The above solution did not work for me.

It worked for me.

https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch04.html#additions-windows

  • Open Virtualbox.app (show the contents) in applications, look in the MacOS folder and copy this VBoxGuestAdditions.iso file to your desktop
  • Point your virtual optical disk to this iso and your ubuntu will ask you to install.

Install it, and copying and pasting will work from your mac on the ubuntu virtual box terminal.

You can use the help menu in VirtualBox (and other applications) to find what you need very easily:

I prefer tuning bidirectionalso that I can copy and paste back and forth between systems
