I'm going to start a new project, and I'm seriously thinking about going down the SaaS route, not the desktop. I know that it’s much more to start so that everything works out, but I feel that the benefits of SaaS regarding what type of project is being implemented to a large extent are in its favor. No need to worry about how people crack software, it’s easier to update the client base, deploy updates, etc. My experience is almost entirely related to desktop applications, C #, Java, etc.
I want to use visual studio, asp.net web application for software development, and do hosting solutions like azure, Amazon, etc. However, my problem at the moment is whether I need to encode everything.
Is there a structure, type of template, that can be used as a base for SaaS applications? Something that I can create an application, so I can just worry about my program. Ideally, this would be something that would match subscription levels, automatic billing, etc. As well as creating databases (I will use an architecture with several tenants) for each client automatically and setting up subdomains for logins (for example, brand name. Myappsite.com)
I would prefer not to use an external service, as this can cause problems if I ever want to switch providers and they store all the information about customer payments, forcing me to ask all my customers to sign a backup. I would like to arrange everything myself.
I wonder if anyone knows anything that I could use to cover this? Either in a single solution, or using a mixture. I know that the aforementioned covers a wide range of functions, however this type of thing exists throughout the network as SaaS is becoming more and more popular and I just can’t see that all these companies write all this themselves, however I may be wrong.
