Vim NerdTree crashes when using Tmux

Question

As described in the title, nerdtree just gets distorted when I scroll the screen in vim with "control + f". As shown in , most of the folder information that should be displayed in the left pane is obfuscated and covered by the contents of the file.

I found similar problems posted in stackoverflow, but none of them got a good solution.

Put this in your ~/.bashrc:

export TERM=screen-256color

As you learned from the tmux FAQ , "most display problems are caused by incorrect TERM settings"
