Open excel-xml with apache poi

The user can save the excel document as .xls or as an xml table. The result is an xml file with a fixed structure, and Excel can fix it.

Is it possible to open this excel file type with apache-poi in java?

If you mean XML-tablea file like this (created using the Save As option in Excel):
