What is the difference between wso2 authentication server and CAS?

Question

I recently learned about the wso2 Identity server, it looks like it can cover all the CAS (Central Authentication Service) features that I'm familiar with.

I have the following 3 questions:

• What is the difference between an authentication server and a CAS?
• Can Identity server and CAS work together on the same system to take advantage of their respective benefits.
• Can I use only the Identity server instead of using the Identity server and CAS?
