Reverse firmware design - what happens with every fourth byte?

So I decided to grab my tools and analyze the firmware of the router. Everything went well, right up to the moment when I had to find segments manually. I would not bother you, and I really do not want to ask about hacking something or doing a favor for me. There is a sample that I'm sure someone can explain to me. Looking at hexdump, I see the following:

There are lines that break the pattern, but it goes all the way to the end of the file.
what can cause this pattern?
