Change speed with VelGDX ParticleEffect

I have a flame ParticleEffectlike exhaust from a rocket. While the rocket moves slowly, the flame looks beautiful, but when the rocket starts to move very fast, the flame cannot really accelerate, because the speed of its particles is relative to the world, not the rocket. This results in glare that disappears from the screen in a few seconds.

Can I update the speed of the emitter at run time, or can I set some speed reference point for the particle effect (also at run time)?
