Google Drive to be used as our SaaS storage

I have seen recent changes in the price of Google Drive, and they are amazing.

  • 1Tb on Google Drive = $ 9.99
  • 1Tb on Amazon S3 = $ 85 ($ 43 if you have more than 5,000 TB with them)

It changes everything!

We have a SaaS website that stores client files. Does anyone know if Google Drive can be used to store such files / services or just for personal use?

Does it have a robust API for downloading, uploading and creating a public url for accessing files from S3?

Edit: here I saw the SDK ( https://developers.google.com/drive/v2/reference/ ). The main problem is that this service can be used to store client files, I mean, the SaaS site offering the service and storing files there.

This does not change anything.

A similar service with comparable functionality with S3 is Google Cloud Storage, which is very similar to S3 in pricing.

Sorry to ruin your party before you worry too much, look at this problem . It is in Google’s own product and has been in effect since November 2013 (i.e. for 4 months). Now imagine re-synchronizing several hundred GB of files once. Or better, ask your clients to do this with their files after you have recommended the “Drive” to them.
