What happens when I refuse support for iOS 6?

If I release an update for my application that reduces iOS 6 support and adds iOS 7 compatibility, what will happen to users on iOS 6:

  • Do they see the update in the app store?
  • Will new iOS 6 users download the latest compatible version of the app?

  • No. New users who have not yet purchased your application cannot download it directly. But if they really want it, they can purchase it on their iOS7 device and then download it on iOS6. This way they will receive an invitation download the app of its last compatible version.
