Umbraco: Configuring RTE to Work with HTML Tags

I am using Umbraco 7 CMS to create a website. Inside the pages, I have several RichText editors that I would like to configure to accept tags (namely, the abbr tag).

I searched for this and came across the following instructions:

Editing the tinyMceConfig file to accept new commands, namely the abbreviations umbracoAlias and abbr.

Editing CDATA to receive new information in the ValidElements section of the tinyMceConfig file.

Editing web.Config to make Umbraco reboot.

We selected new fields (they are now visible in Umbraco when they were not earlier), abbreviations and abbr in the RTE section of the Developer tag. Now the site said that I should see 2 flags appearing in RTE in order to create inline styles when entering into RTE.

Reloaded nodes, a reissued site, logged in and logged out of Umbraco many times, but they are not displayed on RTE.

Any ideas on how I can try to fix this? This is very annoying! Many thanks.

This is due to TidyHtml and is really a bad problem!

I just ran into the same problem and was curious if there was any update since I answered this question for umbraco4.8 a year ago . I was hoping this would be allowed in releases prior to umbraco7, but no luck.

Umbraco /config/umbracosettings.config, Tidy .
, TidyEditorContent , content:

   <content>
        <TidyEditorContent>False</TidyEditorContent>
    <errors>
      <error404>1</error404>

, , Tidy - ... , abbr.
