Presentation information is available in different versions.

I was wondering if anyone knows why the presentation information (stored in the Renderings field) is used by default for all languages and versions?

I confirmed that this is the alleged behavior of the "shared" field with these links:

This SO post: In Sitecore, when adding a field to the template, there is a checkbox called "shared". For what?

And this SDN resource: http://sdn.sitecore.net/sdn5/reference/sitecore%205,-d-,3/field%20reference/field%20properties/data%20properties.aspx

Situation

As an author, I created a new page and pushed it to approve the workflow. Everything is fine and the page is published. The next day I want to make some changes, so I open the Page Editor, a new version is created, and I start adding and removing components on the page.

Problem

As soon as I click "Save", both the approved and published version of my page is affected. The story of my previous layout has disappeared. As soon as someone publishes a Publish site (or a planned release of PublishAgent is completed), my page in the web database will be updated.

Of course, the data source of my new components that I added is not yet published, but what if I add an existing data source that has already been approved? My removal also happens immediately.
