Set bold, italics, ... in emacs org-mode

Question

Emacs org-mode has the following caption: bold, / italics /, underlined, = code = and ~ verbatim ~, and + strike-through +.

Where can I change these markup elements (**, //, __, ...)? For example, I would like to change // to ## for italics, or - for firmware instead of ++.
