HandBrake cuts out all my video

I am using HandBrake for the first time, because so far I have not been able to get any other encoder / converter to work.

I heard a bunch of good things about HandBrake, so I'm disappointed that I can't get it to work correctly.

I have a 133 MB WMV file that I want to convert to MP4 (h.254) for the Internet ... except when I start the conversion, all the video is broken and all that I have left is audio?

I use only the basic mp4 default settings.

Does HandBrake support WMV files?

Edit: I used Windows Movie Maker as a quick, cheap way to add some captions to a video ... the way I ended up in a WMV file. If I just convert the original MOV file (which came from the camera), it seems to work fine.

There was the same problem. When converting the source WMV file, I received sound, but not video. I upgraded Handbrake to version. 0.10.0.6534, which solved the problem. After the update, I see that the frames are being rendered, and the time expected to complete the task is realistic. Recoding worked without problems.
