D3 svg diagrams on ie8 (Windows XP)

Question

Has anyone had success in creating d3.js (svg) to work on ie8 (version for Windows XP: 8.0.6001.18702)?

The d34raphael solution works for IE8 on Windows 7 (version: 8.0.7601.17514). However, IE8 on Windows XP (8.0.6001.18702) is different, and d34raphael does not work with this version.
