HTML5 Canvas / Animation Resources

I am running the ecard website, and currently about half of the content is made up of animations made using Flash. Usually valentines is a pretty busy time for the site, but this year I found that although I had the same amount of traffic to the site, less than a quarter of the number of emails was sent this year compared to last year.

After looking at the statistics of visits on the Internet, I see that the number of visitors using mobile devices this year was slightly less than half, which explains why the volumes were lower because the flash does not work on mobile devices and tablets.

I used to use many open source flash sources from the likes of levitated.net, bit-101.com and wonderfl.net.

Now I understand that I need to start learning HTML5 animations using, for example, canvas.

I wondered if anyone could find out about any useful resources that might be useful to start with.

Also, does anyone know of any good open source libraries / frameworks / content that can be used to create interesting animations? I found http://jsdo.it/ that looks good.

I'm ready to take the time to learn things, but when I used Flash and Actionscript, it was great to use the code that others wrote as a starting point and adapt it to my needs, as ActionScript was several years ahead of everything I can do, since I am not a programmer.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

thanks
