Firefox Font Issues - Bootstrap Glyphicon

Trying to use Bootstrap 3.0 (pulled through Bower) the font of the Glyphicons icon in the application. Works fine in all browsers locally.

In the heroku staging environment, the icon font does not work in Firefox. The font is placed in the S3 bucket with cross-domain settings - this was verified by testing the font using the curl command, as described here . I get a response of 200, no problem. Thus, fonts are in the right place (and not a path problem) and accessible (and not a cross-domain problem - maybe.)

In fact, when I look in the "Network" panel in firefox, I see a 200 response in fonts ... But the file size is specified as 0kb.

I tried several types of content (font / x-woff, application / x-woff), I tried using base-squirrel base 64 encoding (did not work).

I saw that the Bootstrap bootloader had broken fonts, but this is straight from the repo via Bower.

I have no idea what else to try. Halp?

Just returning to this, I threw the icon font towards the SVG solution, and in the meantime we changed the CDN providers and changed all of our CDN settings, while the S3 basket settings remained the same. Checked icon fonts in Firefox and voila, no more problems.
