How to insert blob data in mongodb, is there any additional software

I just installed mongodb on my system, I wanted to know if blob data can be inserted into mongodb. What is the procedure and if any other software is required for this?

Absolutely not. And before some fool just answers " GridFS , please read the documentation here.

Now that you are really reading the documents, consider that your blob (binary) data is probably under the 16 MB BSON limit. In this case, the answer simply Base64 encodes it and puts it in the field of your document.
