Ggplot projection map Dymaxion / Airocean (icosahedron)

Question

I think that the map of R. Buckminster Fuller Daimaxion is one of the most beautiful map projections ever created:

I played with neat projections in mapproj , which works fine with ggplot, but it doesn't seem like there are any predictions for this. Is there a good ggplot way to do this?

One of the few grid systems that uses Fuller Dymaxion but doesn’t cut the whole area is the excellent DGGRID software from Prof Kevin Sahr, see the previous discussion at:
