Does anyone know if iOS7 Safari for iPhone has problems with the poster attribute in the video tag?
I had problems with my application, although it works for Chrome (iPhone, iPad, laptop) and Safari iOS7 (iPad only). While the video plays perfectly, iOS7 Safari for iPhone does not display a poster image.
At HTML5Test.com, iOS7 Safari for iPhone supports the video element and provides support for poster images. But using the sample code from http://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_video_poster.asp , you will notice that the poster image does not load for Safari on your iPhone (but it works fine on Chrome).
Also for Apple (see "Poster Display"):
"Setting the poster image usually has a temporary effect: the poster image is displayed only until the first frame of the video, which is usually the second or two, is available. However, on iOS, the first frame is not displayed until the user initiates playback, and it is recommended An image of the poster, as shown in Listing 1-2. "

I just want to make sure that I donβt miss something simply before using the hack to get around this.
