Error updating cabal

Question

I can not update cabal on seven windows. When starting cabal install cabal-installup, the following error appears:

setup.exe: does not exist

cabal-install-1.18.0.2 depends on Cabal-1.18.1.2 which failed to install.

I could not find information about haskellwiki / cabal faq. Am I missing something? I am using haskell platform version 2013.2.0.0 for windows.

I found a workaround that was to run the command cabal install cabal-installusing MSYS.

I noticed, however, that with the latest bondage, I get a lot of errors does not existon startup cabal install --only-dependenciesor cabal configureif you are not in the MSYS console.
