Does Erlang R17 still have entries?

According to Joe Armstrong :

Records - dead live cards!

But according to the EEP for cards :

Maps were not at first considered a replacement for entries; this was reliably added later.

From these conflicting messages, it is not clear to me whether the records will still be in R17, or whether they will be obsolete and deleted in a future version. Can someone add some insight?

In the near future they will not drop records. There is too much code depending on them .. see http://www.erlang.org/download/otp_src_17.0-rc1.readme (especially OTP-10652)
