What is the difference between the actions of the router and the actions of the controller?

Question

When should I use router actions and not use controller actions? I know that they both fulfill different goals, but are not sure why.

No, technically they serve the same purpose, it depends more on where you want the actions to be handled / covered.

Actions are sparged in a very specific way. From dom, they click on the associated controller, then on the specified controller, and then on the route tree (determined by the display of the router). http://emberjs.com/guides/templates/actions/#toc_action-bubbling
