Is it possible to test the purchase in the application without entering bank details, etc.?

Question

I want to test IAP, but it seems that this will not be possible without going through a few hoops in iTunes Connect and entering bank information, etc.

Reasons why SKProductsRequest returns 0 products?

Can anyone confirm if this is true or not? If so, is there some reason why I cannot just create a dummy test record of the application in iTunes connect, enter the garbage for banking information, and then after the test is completed, delete the application record from iTunes connect?
