Do ASP.NET web applications run after hours of use?

We have a web application available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but since users of the working day try to stop using it in the evening and do not return until 6 or 7 in the morning. And very few users use it on weekends.

Some users who arrive after hours or after hours have noticed that the application is not very responsive when they first start using it. One of them reports that in some cases it took 3 to 5 attempts of singles before they could log in - they would get "There was an error loading your page." Unfortunately, we created this application without any registration function so that we can understand what is happening.

But can anyone say something about the fact that web applications will sleep, so to speak, after several hours of non-use? This application uses the Sql Server database located on a separate server, so it also seemed to me that this problem could be caused by the slow connection with the Sql server.

This is by design. Some people use third-party tools like Pingdom ( https://www.pingdom.com/ ) to keep their sites online.
