My Rails site uses a certain stone, which is really not very good. Every time I need to do something, I have to spend as much time adding functions to the gem as adding code to a real Rails project. But I donβt mind, and I have my Gemfile configured to point to my GitHub plug (I tried to give PR, but the maintainer seemed to be gone).
The problem is that I really did not find a reasonable way to test new things that I add to the gem. It would be especially nice to test it within rails c , but the only ways I can come up with are: a) Changing ~/.rvm/gems/.../foo.rb , which seems wrong or b) Inclining version, clicking Github also runs bundle up , which, in addition to taking up a lot of time, is obviously a disaster, since I donβt know for sure whether my commits are correct or not.
I would even be pleased with the irb standard. But various require lib/foo permutations from inside the gem directory do not work.
So what is the best thing here?
