ICS calendar does not appear in Gmail, where ORGANIZER matches

I have a service where people can create their own restaurant. They use their own email address to create a meeting.

After they set up the meeting, I would like to send them an email with an event attached to it so that they can add the event to their calendar.

So, From in the email is the restaurant’s email and the email address of the person who created the appointment

An interesting part of the attached ICS is as follows:

ORGANIZER; CN = Henrik Hemal, PARTNER = ACCEPTED, ROLE = CHAIR: mailto: my@own _email.address Attendee; ROLE = CHAIR; PARTSTAT = ACCEPTED: Email: my@own _email.address

The problem is that Gmail does not display the ICS file. It just shows it as an application.

I think this is because ORGANIZER is the same as the creator

So, if " my@own _email.address" is a Gmail address, then the calendar does not appear.

Unable to send calendar to Gmail, where ORGANIZER matches the To field?

I think it is too late to give you an answer. But I am in the same situation and I found this answer that helped me understand that the problem is related to the iCalendar RFC2445 specification. So, to answer your question ... No, you can not send a calendar reminder to the organizer, it is the same as the participant.

Look at the link I give, there is a better explanation and a possible solution for you (and for me)
