How to check Android lock widgets in emulator?

To get to the Android Emulator lock screen, in the latest emulators (using Android Studio 2.3), just click the "Power" button in the emulator. You will get a black screen. Press it again, and here it is, your lock screen.

With the following combination, it now works for me.

Install: Launch the Android SDK Manager. In the "Android 2.2.2 (API 17)" section, install the Intel x86 Atom System Image. He offers Rev. 1 . Also download, install, and then complete the Intel HAXM installation, if you have not already. You may need to allocate more RAM for HAXM. IIRC, I have it installed on 2 GB.

(The Android SDK Manager has Rev. 2 from the ARM EABI v7a System Image. According to Android emulator 4.2.2, which does not show the ability to add a widget to the lock screen , the lock screen widgets work in Rev.1, but not Rev. 2. I have not tested ARM system images.)

Create an AVD with these settings:

• Device: Galaxy Nexus (4.65 ", 720 x 1280: xhdpi)
• Target: Android 4.2.2 - API Level 17
• CPU / ABI: Intel Atom (x86)
• Leather: Leather with dynamic hardware controls.
• Memory options: RAM: 768, heap VM: 64
• Internal storage: 200 MiB
• SD card: Size: 100 MB
• Emulation options: [x] Use CPU

Add lock screen widget:

• Run this AVD emulator.
• Run the application in this emulator.
• If you need to get to the lock screen, press the simulated power button twice (off, on).
• On the lock screen, swipe the clock widget. He must grow a large rectangle. Release the mouse.
• Swipe right until you reach the "+" screen.
• Press "+", then select your widget from the list.

NOTE. Android L does not support lock screen widgets. The function has disappeared.
