Shorten the visible path to the cmd file

I am studying a java program, and when I move the CMD window to the folder with my programs, the area showing the path becomes very long. I just want to know how to do this, and if you can shorten the path, why is the entrance closer to the left edge of the window?

If you are running Windows and b) most of what you use regularly is in the same directory or set of subdirectories, then this article I found may be what you are looking for:

https://www.datavail.com/blog/windows-command-prompt-shorten-directory-length-trick/

I had the same nasty problem (I need to work with 5 or 6 directories deeply) and it really cleared the CMD display for me.

If this does not work for you, my other suggestion would be to follow the Keval tip above and just move the files further up the hierarchy if possible. This is definitely the easiest solution, and Ocham Razor and all that :)
