It can be assumed that he is busy, because good programmers usually fail.
I would suggest making a bitbucket account to comment on this issue, or asking the author to transfer his repository to something like GitHub, where the community will take care of the rest for him.
This can be a bit tricky because it currently uses mecurial to control versions.
There are not many answers, but there are other people who are looking for the same information as you.

I started using the Catch Framework to run a unit test in C and C ++ about 2 months after answering this question. It is fairly well documented and is actively developing on GitHub. Maybe worth a try.
