As the title says, from the Win7 host I am trying to access Postgres 9.3 installed on Linux Centos 5.8, which is located in VirtualBox on the same machine. I try to access it from PGAdmin, and everything is fine when I start Postgre from Win7 services, so PGAdmin is configured correctly.
What have i tried? I read a lot of articles on this subject, and even some questions on this forum, but nothing worked. I have:
- switched to NAT and forwarded port 5432 to the VirtualBox GUI
- set listenadresses = '*' in postgresql.conf file
- add all all 10.0.2.1/24 md5 lines to the pg_hba.conf file
- enter 5432 inbound and outbound port rule in the win7 firewall settings.
- linux c # firewall iptables stop disabled
Just to mention. When the service starts in virtual Linux, I can access it from linux, so the service starts correctly. The problem is that windows do not see this service. And when the service starts from linux, I can start the same service in Win and vice versa, although port 5432 should be busy.
The most suspicious part for me is point 3), because I'm not sure if I put the correct address in the rule correctly. This address varies from article to article, and I would appreciate it if someone could explain to me how to be sure which address (or range) should be listed there according to my network. Or some other tips if possible. Thank you
