Java EE7 / Glassfish Upgrade Tool Does Not Display

I am trying to make Java EE 7 tutorials on my windows 7 laptop.

To use the tutorial, you need to run the Update Tool. You can launch the Update Tool by right-clicking on Glassfish 4 under the servers in the NetBeans Services section. Or you can go to it using Start> All Programs> Java EE 7 SDK> Run Update Tool. I tried this in both directions, and I get the same result, even after I tell NetBeans about installing the updater: the cursor displays computer thinking, and then ... nothing. Nothing happens.

Can someone help me understand why the updater does not open?

I tried a few things: I installed an older version of Glassfish (v.3), but that didn't work. Then I reinstalled version 4. Still not working. But then I found another way to the update tool. If you start the server, then right-click Glassfish again and select View Domain Admin Console, look down at the very bottom left of the screen and you will see another link to the update tool. For some reason, THIS one works!

Just go to localhost: 4848. This is the default port, so if you changed it, use the one you entered.
