How to update my application without losing settings?

I have a WP8 application in which each user can have different settings and some other data.

How can I release a new update without losing this data. I see that the old version will be removed before installing the new version. How to survive user data?

(I hope no one comes here and tells you where your code is :) :) this is an update)

If the user installs an update from the market, the data should remain there (the next time you update the notification about the application, for example, you do not need to re-enter the log data). It seems you are doing a complete rebuild and deploying your application that uninstalls and reinstalls the application. To simulate an update, simply deploy the application from Visual Studio without rebuilding , and you will see that your data should remain there.

To do the correct upgrade test, I suggest you look at Windows Phone Power Tools on CodePlex.

I have updated my applications many times, and I can say that after installation updates from the Windows PhoneSizetings repository are not deleted.

If you recreate your application and deploy it to a client device with an existing application, IsolStorage will be cleaned up, as mentioned earlier. But I do not believe that restoring your solution and publishing the redesigned XAP will clear the storage.
