What happens after the Google App Engine application reaches the free quota limit (billing is disabled)?

What happens if the application deployed in GAE reaches the free quote limit (in case of billing failure)? Will Google charge a fee for using resources above the free quote or will your application become unavailable until the free quota is reset or billing is turned on?

According to the Google App Engine Documentation , Google will not charge you, they will disable the exhausted resource.

You will see some default 500 Server Error page with a Google Robot image.

Or you can create your own static HTML error page, see the documentation for configuring app.yaml -> custom error response

Even if billing is enabled, since you can set a daily budget, it’s the same when your budget is reached. Google states that they will never charge you over your budget.
