Heroku and the Iris Dome versus Cloud

Question

Do you have any experience / thoughts on using Iriscouch or Cloudant with Heroku? Need to use Cloudant (as suggested as an add-on)?

What are the pros / cons?

I am working on an application that is heavy in geoinformation and should be distributed worldwide. Is any of the above faster (lower latency) in any particular region (mainly in Europe and Australia)?

I don’t know what Iriscouch has to offer in this regard, but the Cloudant search function allows you to search in geographic regions . In addition, when registering, you can choose where you want your account to live. You can choose one in Europe or one that is located next to Heroku servers. If this is not the place, you can always move later.
