OpenCL: what if there is no compatible GPU?

I am learning OpenCL and I have a compatible x86 processor, but my GPU does not support OpenCL at all. Therefore, when I call the clGetDevices API, it returns nothing.

Since I'm just studying this structure, and I'm not looking for optimization or better performance, is it necessary to get a new system? (While OpenCL programs are running on my platform)

Thank you in advance:)

http://www.acooke.org/cute/Developing0.html describes how I worked with the processor (only) a few years ago. Basically, the AMD OpenCL driver worked with my Intel processor.
