Emacs -nw mode key interactions contradict unity

I am using Ubuntu 13.04 (unity). When using emacs in nw mode, some emacs key bindings do not work. For example, if I use Alt + v , instead of moving the current page back, the View menu appears. Even after I canceled the Show Menubar option, Alt + v still doesn't work. Did anyone know how I can resolve key conflicts?

You can do it:

  • Click "Edit."
  • Press the Hotkeys ...
  • Uncheck "Enable menu access keys."

You can edit your ubuntu key bindings using the Compizconfig app . The amazing thing about this for me is you can find a specific key binding. Go to advanced search and check the box next to "Search Values." You can then search for <super> .
