What are the problems using SVG today?

I noticed https://beta.icloud.com/ did not use SVG, which surprised me. Here Apple is at the forefront using things like background: -webkit-canvas (animation), and they don't use SVG on what seems like the perfect place to use it. I want to go deeper into SVG, but before I want to understand its limitations. When I see demos such as this Mozilla demo , it seems like it has no major issues. What would be the reason a large corporation, for example, would not use SVG?

There are relatively few "problems" using SVG right now. For the most part, this is a matter of conformity and familiarity - there are many problems when the solution is to use the raster buffer dynamically. That is canvas .

However, for Apple, the problem is that Safari has the worst SVG compatibility of any major browser (at least the last time I tested it). They want their sites to run on Safari.
