Android Studio build failure requires a complete rebuild to continue

I have a project for Git DVCS, which from time to time does not build with missing characters in the R-class, the only solution of which is the Build → Rebuild project, which takes about one and a half minutes on my ultrabook on average. Is there any solution to this little trouble?

This is a known bug in Android Studio 0.1.6. Disable the external assembly in Settings> Compiler for a temporary workaround according to Google.
