Problem installing application verifier

I installed an application verifier to detect heap corruption in my application in Visual Studio 2010. The OS it runs on is Windows 7. The problem I have is very stupid: I cannot run the application verifier. I read that it is installed in the program menu (but I did not find the application verifier there), or that I just run AppVerif.exe (which I also can not find). In my application Verifier folder, I have the files REDIST.txt, vrfauto.dll, vrfauto.h and vrfauto.idl and nothing else. I tried to uninstall and reinstall it again, but the contents of the folder remained unchanged, and there was no sign of AppVerif.exe on my computer. At the moment I do not know what to do. My application is stuck and I can’t move on. Help me please!

Here you should find the Application Verifier executable:

<YourWindowsFolder>\SysWOW64\appverif.exe (x86 version) <YourWindowsFolder>\System32\appverif.exe (x64 version)

I have two Win7 x64 machines, both have the installed version of AppVerifier (6.2.9200), but one of them has the correct links to applications, the other not (as you described). This probably depends on which version of the .NET Framework is installed on the system. AppVerifier is deprecated, and its installer may not be compatible with newer versions of the framework.
