Multiline EditText with IMEOption Next in android

Question

I need to have a multi-line EditText with the Next button on the keyboard. When I set inputType to multi-line, the Next button does not appear on the keyboard. I also tried setting imeOptions to actionNext, but it does not work. I see that it works on the layout screen in the Gmail app. It supports multi-line EditText with the Next button. How can I achieve this in my application?
