Invalid DoubleClick ad request for publishers with AdMob SDK

Question

I use the Admob SDK to download banners from DFP on Android.

I use the XML method defined on this page to upload ads: https://developers.google.com/mobile-ads-sdk/docs/dfp/fundamentals

When I launch the application, I get

06-21 16:44:30.354: I/Ads(2641): onFailedToReceiveAd(Invalid Ad request.) 

When I go into test mode

 adRequest.addTestDevice("xxx"); 

Then I can successfully see the Google Test banner. So, suppose my SDK integration is correct, what the hell if "Invalid ad request"?

You do not need to have an application already on the market to get the publisher ID for the new application. In the URL box of the Android package, which is in the form "Add a site / application", simply enter "market: // details? Id = your.package.name". You, of course, want to replace "your.package.name" with the actual name of your application.

ViewWidth warnings are accurate, and you'll probably still see them after pasting the publisher ID.

Your ad unit is most likely invalid. You need to access the DFP account that you are using and verify that the network ID, ad unit name, and dimensions are correct. There may not be any suitable ads, or something really can happen really ... but, as you say, the test ad works, so most likely something is wrong in DFP.

I usually work with DFP on websites, so with the Admob SDK everything can be a little different, but if this is some help, I have this little tool that I use to check the delivery of ads in DFP:

You can also press CTRL + F10 to open the DFP web console and get more information about the delivery of the advertisement ... but, as I said, this may not be much help, because this is an Admob announcement .. but it’s worth doing this is!
